Safe Return was painted over a previous work titled Get Home Safe, a piece that was rooted in prayer, longing and protection. What was once dark has been softened by time and growth. The black remains underneath; a reference to grief, cycles and lessons learned.It no longer dominates. Darkness became light. This piece is about returning home to safety,to yourself, and ultimately back to God.
